Come Join us *THIS SUNDAY* at Palmers United Reformed Church for an afternoon of music from our Choirs and our Talented and Promising Soloists.

The Concert will start promptly at 3pm!

We are excited to hear such a wide range of delightful music performed by our Chorale, NYC, Children’s Younger Voices and our Special Soloists this Sunday! With music spanning over 500 years this promises to be a very exciting concert with something for everyone! We will be performing works from Composers such as; John Rutter, Amy Winehouse, Phil and June Colough, Dussek, Panic at the Disco, Evanescence, Mozart, Massenet and William Byrd. Needless to say it will be fascinating to see the contrast and similarities of all this music across the ages.

As usual we cannot wait to hear all our Choirs perform! We are exited to be able to tell you; Children’s Younger Voices will be bringing to life a couple of  numbers from the famous ‘Mary Poppins’ musical, The NYC will be giving a rendition of the spectacular ‘As Torrents in Summer’ by Edward Elgar, and The Chorale will be performing a mixture of old familiars as well as new works. One piece worth noting is a stunning work by Bob Chilcot, which transports us to the Orient with its Pentatonic Modality.

On this occasion, The Chorale are ever so grateful to be led by our fantastic guest conductor Jonathan Schranz!

Jonathan Schranz is a conductor based in London, currently studying with Patrick Russill at the Royal Academy of Music. Since moving to London in 2015 he has built up a diverse career as a choral conductor and animateur. Jonathan is musical director at the church of St John at Hackney, Brentwood Choral Society, the Office Choir of Grant Thornton, the Fisher Consort and the professional Gregorian Schola, Graduale.

When away from churches and concert halls he can be found in maximum security prisons leading choral singing workshops with the charity Sing Inside!

Please spread the word!

Bring your family, friends, neighbors, distant relatives, strangers and pets! Everyone is welcome at Children’s International Voices of Enfield!

Christmas Supper – 3rd January

Dear, Chorale, Alumni, Parents and Trustees,

It was absolutely wonderful to see you all last night, for what turned out to be a lovely evening of friends catching up, music and our delicious 3 Course meal prepared by the fabulous Tina. Huge congratulations must go to Tina, for singlehandedly preparing forty 3 Course meals – No Mean Feat! She even prepared her own special mint sauce, which was an all-round hit.

We were so happy to be graced with the presence of such wonderful friends, alumni and choir members, thank you all for coming and breaking bread with us. It was a delight to see you all and catch up on what you are all up to. With so many talented and creative young people it is always fascinating to hear you and where you are at on your journeys! It was especially interesting to hear Phoebe Quare is now taking a more scientific approach to her designing career, using some very interesting materials like mussels (the sea variety) in her work?!

It was also an exceptional pleasure to hear performances from Edmund Jeffery and Ewan Phillips. Edmund first sang solos with us when he was 5 years old and performed a mixture of originals, covers and delightful renditions of some George Formby Classics. Edmund, Ewan and friends will be performing at the Dugdale Theatre on the 24th of March, so if you would like to hear more and support local Enfield talent, please do keep the date free in your diaries. In the meantime if you want to listen to or purchase any of Edmund’s music you can, via the following link; Itunes

Last night was a highly successful evening and everyone seemed very keen to have another one in the future!

We are always delighted to hear from you all, especially by email and we will endeavor to reply in a short while. In the meantime have a great new term! For those of you who are returning to choir on Sunday it is the first time we have had an audition for a new choir conductor and we are looking forward to this very much.

Love, June and Christopher
